The Royalton hotel, built in the ’40s, is right in the heart of the historical centre of Bayamo city. Returning guests testify to the winning combination of its pleasant rooms and excellent cooking.
The town of Bayamo, founded in 1513 by the Adelantado or Captain-General Diego Velázquez, was the cradle of Cuba’s National Anthem and also of Cuban patriot, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes.
The hotel has a restaurant, bar, snack bar, night club, central security box, parking and car rental.

This house on the north side of Parque Céspedes is the birthplace of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the Father of our Homeland. The house was built at the beginning of the 19th century and it has been a museum since 1968, the centennial anniversary of the signing of the Cuban Declaration of Independence. This museum exhibits pieces of historical value, decorative arts, pieces of furniture and personal objects that belonged to Céspedes, such as his cigar case, the sword, his watch, among others. Also on display is the printing press on which Céspedes published Cuba's first independent newspaper.
Adjacent to the Hotel Sierra Maestra is the Cabaret Bayamo, where high-stepping, costumed dancers perform at dinner shows several evenings a week. Another cabaret is inside the hotel, but it isn't as highly charged as the Bayamo.
